Cast in solid copper,nicely detailed with silver eyes this Baby Ganesh is from Kashmir; He is the Hindu elephant headed god of wisdom, success and joy is the defender of individuals and the remover of obstacles. He is one of the sons of Shiva and is known as "Sidhi Data", (bestower of success in work and business),. It is said that he broke off one of his task and used it to write the Mahabharata, a epic and sacred creation story, to the dictation of the sage Vyasa. (Note that in the carving one of his tasks is indeed shorter.)"Writers will worship him, and he will scribe of heaven, using one of his ivory tusks to write with, he will be the god of literature," Brahma said. "He will have a special place in the hearts of all people."
He is god of wisdom; smiling good fortune upon all new undertakings.
Represented as a baby playing with a ball is becomes the symbol of joyful beginnings and the lighthearted realization which accompanies spiritual evolution.
