Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu, (the pervader; supreme cause of all; limitless). Vishnu having manifested the world, enters it again and again as a guide; as Krishna he represents a perfect human life.
He is the embodiment of Love, the divine joy that destroys all pain. He was born to establish the religion of love. Should his name, but once, come across the mind of his devotee it will take away, devour, and eliminate suffering. He is the instigator of all forms of knowledge.
Note; each incarnation of Vishnu continues and fulfills the work of previous incarnations.
