A unique and powerful rupa, copper with gold burnishing - she has a elegant presence and wonderful detail; (note the delicate fingers and the natural weight placement over one hip) size: 15.75" tall x 5" deep x 6.5" across.
Green Tara; is Healing and Protection Deity - the Goddess Mother which emerged from the tears of the All- Compassionate Avalokiteshvara Buddha. The embodiment of compassion, associated with physical healing, the feminine aspect of Buddha. Here she is depicted in a rare primordial poster, offering blessings.
The age is uncertain - late 19th to early 20th century - note that the base is not original (the original was lost somewhere in passing time and I commissioned a new base be made to mirror what the original (most likely) would looked like. (12/04#8a)
